Cupping therapy has a history of many centuries, and interest in it is growing again: cups are used in massage, recovery practices, sports and traditional therapy. Many interpretations and bold promises have grown up around the method, with very different scientific foundations.
The aim of the book is to compare traditional experience, practice and modern scientific data, and to show clearly which system of explanation each claim belongs to and how well it is supported by science.
A special place is given to the illustrated anatomical atlas: the working zones, muscles, vessels, nerves and joints that matter. Separate chapters cover wet cupping, hijama and infection safety.
